Bi-Directional Current Sensor Module 5A – ACS712
The ACS712 is a bi-directional, Hall effect current sensing IC. The current is passed through the IC, with little to no effect on the voltage, and the IC measure the magnetic field generated by the current. The measured value is output as an analog voltage. At 0A the voltage output is Vcc/2 (e.g. 2.5V). The sensor then adjusts the output by 0.185V/A (e.g. +5A = 2.5 + 0.185*5 = 3.425V).
