Installing the CH340 UART-to-USB Bridge Drivers
As the CH340 UART-to-USB bridge chip is becoming more popular, the installation is getting easier. On the newest versions of Windows, the drivers are automatically found and installed. However, other operating systems like older versions of Windows, Linux, or MAC may not be so accommodating. For these situations, you can download the drivers from the links below and install them manually.
- CH34x macOS Sierra Driver on GitHub (10.12)
- CH34x macOS 10.9 – 10.11 Driver (Reportedly crashes macOS Sierra 10.12)
The drivers for the CH340 are usually built into most Linux distros. It will usually install automatically when you plug in the device. If not, try updating. If that doesn’t work, you can try this Linux driver.
